Christie Lake’s 10-km recreational trail system takes you through peaceful meadows and towering pine forests. Trails are accessible by foot, snowshoe or cross-country skis, weather permitting. The conservation area is open daily from dusk until dawn.

Mountsbergâs sugar bush has been producing maple magic for almost 150 years, and educating the public for more than 30 years! Approximately 600 trees are tapped during what could certainly be deemed the most Canadian of the seasons, where watery sap is transformed into sweet maple syrup in the Sugar Shanty. Weekends, March Break and holidays â Visit the reconstructed Iroquoian Village and learn how maple syrup was discovered and used by Indigenous People as you take in an interactive (and edible!) Sweet Water demonstration. Nostalgia is served in the afternoon as staff demonstrate how to make taffy on snow. Try a tasting flight of different grades and types of syrup before heading to the gift shop to pick up a delicious souvenir. Kids will enjoy winning a prize for completing the maple-themed discovery hunt!
