Toronto’s Ontario Place is Host to the Aurora Winter Festival

THE AURORA WINTER FESTIVAL inspires the festive spirit through magical winter experiences. Escape into a hidden village by the North Pole filled with captivating Christmas light displays and magical characters, and enjoy the market huts, food gardens, amusement rides, live entertainment, and plenty of other exciting activities.

From visiting Santa’s Workshop to lacing up your skates on the Frozen Pond, there is something for every age at the Aurora Winter Festival.

The festival takes place at Toronto’s Ontario Place, East Island and runs from November 29th to December 30th.

EXPLORE THE VILLAGE
Visit the Food Gardens for a holiday treat or delicious meal, peruse through the market on Main Street for the perfect Christmas gift, or head over to the heated entertainment tent to enjoy mulled wine or hot chocolate during some joyous performances by the merrymakers.

THE MYSTICAL WORLDS
The Disco Den
The Disco Den is home to Yin, Zaos, and the DJ Ice Elf, Elyon. It’s inherited its name from the Disco Cube and the vibrant personalities within it. This world is filled with fun including giant animal sculptures, the yeti cave, and an LED dance floor.

The Arctic Retreat
As guests trek through the Arctic Retreat they must navigate the maze of snow packed walls and ice shards. This world of ice and snow features ice sculptures, electric orbs, and icicles scattered throughout.

The Luminous Gardens
The Luminous Gardens is the most alluring of the worlds and features the palace and ice throne, along with Thyra and Rivera. This world also boasts giant willows and beautiful gardens. If you’re lucky, you might even see a unicorn.

The Whimsical Forest
The Whimsical Forest is a quirky world with many curious things. Be sure to check out the fox, the gingerbread hut, and the gnome village. Visitors often rub the giant gnome’s toque for good luck.


RIDES AND ATTRACTIONS
Beyond the Mystical Worlds and magical characters within them, the Aurora Winter Festival is also home to a number of exciting attractions and rides. Climb the stairs to the 180 foot tube park fit for all ages, bring out your inner child on the choo-choo train, or climb on the Ferris Wheel to get the best vantage of the entire festival.

All Rides and Attractions, with the exception of the frozen pond, cost extra (tickets are available on site).
Skate Rentals: $7 per skate rental + Optional $2 Damage Protection
Amusement + Tube Rides: 1 ride ($3), 4 rides ($10), 10 rides ($20)

Tube Park
Standing over 20 feet tall and 180 feet long, the Tube Park is a must do at the Aurora Winter Festival. Tube park rides cost extra (tickets are available on site).

Frozen Pond
Lace up your skates (or rent!) and take to the beautiful frozen pond. Twist and turn your way through magical Christmas light installations and features.

Ferris Wheel
Designed for riders of all ages, the Ferris Wheel offers spectacular views of the Aurora Winter Festival event site and beyond.

Choo-Choo Train
Ring the bell or just sit back and enjoy the ride. This Choo Choo Train will take you on a short journey passing by a backdrop you won’t want to miss.

Carousel
Well known as a classic carnival ride, the Carousel will bring out the child in any rider.

SANTA’S WORKSHOP
Join Santa and his elves as they share their favourite Christmas stories in a magical story telling show. While in his workshop, enjoy a variety of holiday crafts and be sure to visit the letter writing station with a mailbox that delivers your letters straight to Santa.

Looking to meet Santa? Each evening at 8 PM, Santa and his Elves will stay after story time to meet a handful of lucky insiders. This visit will be a quick meet and greet and will not include the traditional photo opportunity with a professional photographer.

The Man of the Hour
