P.A. Day Camps and Activities

Looking for something to do with the kids? Here are a few ideas for some indoor and outdoor fun on a P.A. Day!! Play safe!!

1. P.A. DAY DROP-IN GYM
Brant Hills Community Centre

Ages 8 – 14
12:30 pm – 3:00 pm
Offered on PA Days for youth. Come to open gym and shoot some hoops and get active!


2. SKATING
Appleby Ice Centre
1201 Appleby Line, Burlington
Sticks and Pucks – Ages 3 – 8
11:30 am – 1:00 pm
For children under 8 years of age and caregivers to practice their stick handling skills. Organized hockey, slap shots and speed skating are not permitted. Goalies are welcome to come and practice and play for free. All participants, including caregivers attending Sticks and Puck must wear a CSA approved helmet.
Public Skate
1:00 pm – 2:30 pm 
Everyone is welcome! This skate is a great way to socialize and skate with friends and family. 

Mountainside Community Centre

An opportunity for youth and teens aged 9-18 to practice their stick handling skills. Organized hockey, slap shots and speed skating are not permitted. Goalies are welcome to come and practice for free. All participants must wear a CSA approved helmet.

3. TOBOGGANING
Tobogganing is a popular winter activity that promotes active living and family fun in the community. The City of Burlington has designated six locations that are safe for tobogganing. Find a location near you …

4. CAMPS
Art Gallery of Burlington Artist instructors will tour the students through our various galleries as sources for inspiration and facilitate activities to encourage children to engage with art and craft making. Details: Kids 4-12, 9am – 4pm, $30 members, $40 non-members, in Burlington.

4Cats Burlington Invites little artists to create a work of art with their own two hands.  Half days only, kids ages 5-10, $55 per child, Burlington.

The City of Oakville has you covered for fun and variety this P.A. Day. Art, history, sports and adventure for all ages! Ages and prices vary by activity, full and half day available, Oakville.

Speckles Art Studio Oakville guarantees a fun-filled day of painting, drawing, sewing, other mixed media, building with LEGO® and more. All materials are included, and when the creativity begins to flow, things get messy!

Cheerforce Cheerleading Participants will learn all the elements of cheerleading such as stunts, jumps, tosses, tumbling, dancing and pyramids. Full day, children 4-12, $45.20 +HST, Burlington.

6. ROYAL BOTANICAL GARDENS

Spiders Alive!
In Spiders Alive!, visitors can explore spider anatomy and evolutionary history, learn about their signature traits — venom and silk-making — and be surprised by little-known defense mechanisms such as mimicry and noise-making. In addition to live arachnids representing approximately 17 species, the exhibition includes larger-than-life models of spiders, a climbable spider model 50 times life size, and a rare 100-million-year-old fossil of a spider in limestone.
